Judge Carol

I’m a lawyer and judge with over 30 years of experience in the Bahamian legal system. Not only that, but I’ve worked across the spectrum of courtroom practice, private practice, public practice, and advising.
In my career I have:
-
Appeared in all courts in The Bahamas and the Industrial Tribunal.
-
Prosecuted criminal cases at the Magistrate and Supreme Court levels.
-
Pursued outstanding taxes and defended damages claims by people suing the police or other government agents.
-
Advised government ministries and departments on contractual obligations.
-
Litigated personal injury, insurance, and breach of contract claims.
-
Operated a boutique law firm for nearly a decade, helping clients with family matters and insurance claims.
-
Presided over criminal trials and small claims civil cases.
-
Managed court proceedings, the court’s calendar, and court operations for the entire Judiciary of The Bahamas.
Few other legal professionals can claim similar breadth and depth of understanding of the Bahamian legal system.
And having seen firsthand the anxiety, stress, and turmoil that conflict and pending court cases can have on individuals and their families, I want to help as many people avoid this as I can.
In addition to my client sessions, I’m available for speaking engagements and workshops to the general public. For law firms, I also provide education and training on preparing to appear in court and the use of documents. If you are interested in any of these services please contact the office.
