Forms of ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution)
I offer arbitration and mediation services to help you resolve your conflict without going to court and with a more peaceful, agreeable outcome for everybody involved.
Arbitration
The specific type of arbitration I offer is dispute resolution, which addresses disagreements that would likely otherwise end up before a judge. Disputes are typically around things like asue monies, traffic accidents, landlord/tenant disagreements, and provision of services. If these kinds of cases aren’t solved they require costly litigation procedures - costly in terms of finances, time, and stress. The goal of dispute resolution is to settle the case before one party issues a summons against the other. Therefore, the solution is binding. Dispute resolution only works when both parties agree to abide by the outcome.
Mediation
The type of mediation I offer is conflict resolution, which typically involves families, church/civic organizations, and other groups with more regular, close contact with one another. Conflict resolution is helpful for situations where you need help sorting through deep-rooted issues, emotions, resentment, or pain that exist and contribute to the disagreement.
How it works
Both dispute and conflict resolution hearings happen in a single meeting, with no lawyers involved.
Hearings are held in Nassau on Saturdays between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Your hearing will happen within that window - it won’t take 4 hours! - and you can make your reservation using my calendar. Both parties equally share the cost of the Resolution, starting at $600, or $300 per party. My office will confirm the cost of your hearing after you have booked your appointment.
